Zeeshan Haque, NSNO volunteer with Richard Barnes, Deputy Mayor.

No Second Night Out volunteers recently received the Mayor of London’s Certificate of thanks, the Team London Star certificate. The Team London Star is awarded to volunteers who regularly contribute their time and skills to the city to make it a better place.

Zeeshan Haque and Hywel Lewis both received the certificate in recognition of their regular commitment to the No Second Night Out project. Like all of our volunteers, their willingness to undertake all tasks that are required to ensure rough sleepers at the hub are made to feel comfortable and supported are vitally important to the overall success of No second Night Out.

Zeeshan regularly volunteers as a referral line operator, providing advice to rough sleepers and passing referrals made by members of the public onto outreach teams. Hywel volunteers on a weekly basis, undertaking a variety of tasks such as; accompanying clients to accommodation, ensuring the hub is clean and tidy and sitting chatting to clients over a cup of tea.

Zeeshan attended the Your Team London Star presentation on 21st February 2012 at City Hall. This formed part of an event to launch the Mayor of London’s revised equality framework for London, ‘Equal Life Chances for All’. He collected an award from the Statutory Deputy Major, Richard Barnes, in recogiton of the contribution of all volunteers at No Second Night Out.
